Eullysis Alzaga, a Quezon National High School (QNHS) alumnus and a graduate of Far Eastern University (FEU), tops Electronics Engineering (ECE) 2018 with a rating of 93.30%.

 

The said examination was held in various testing centers in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, and Davao last April 4-5 with 2663 examinees and 1208 passers.

 

According to Alzaga, he started studying in QNHS in2008 and graduated in 2012 and was in the Mathematics program of the school where they have one additional Mathematics subject per year.

 

He added that he participated in a number of Mathematics competitions during his stay in high school and has won some of them both individually and by team.

 

Alzaga was also part of the Quizzer Team of the school along with Joshua Javier and Alysa Valencia and represented the school in various quiz bees and events held by University of the Philippines (UP) Oroqueita, UP Kalilayan, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) and the Patalasanlahi.

 

“For me, the biggest preparation that I did was to gain experience and knowledge in joining events like quiz bees and attending trainings. Before the review period for our board exams started, I was armed with the right ammo and was equipped with the latest weapons because of the experience I had since I was little”, he stated.

 

He thanked the people who helped him pass and prepare for the examinations which he stated are his teachers in every subject he took during his stay in high school and the teachers who he met and known in events or organizations.

 

“Aside from getting rewards from my review center and school, the job hunting process will be totally easy. In fact, yung trabaho pa mismo yung lumalapit. And the greatest reward for this achievement is giving pride to my family, school, and hometown”, Alzaga said in an interview.

 

He advised aspirers to aim higher than their goal, further stating that it was his mindset during the board exam, setting the goal of passing the exam and aiming to ace it and setting the goal of acing the exam and aiming to perfect it.

 

Alzaga is currently a Firmware Engineer at Analog Devices Inc. and also teaches in review centers as a part time.
