NEWS

Quezon National High School showcased Pinoy Sayaw, a program with the aim of unveiling dance genres that are neglected by the youth, which was held in the school’s Alcala Sports Complex, February 27.

Students of QNHS watch as the city of Quezon, Batangas, Malabon and South Cotabato’s dance groups flash outstanding performances in the said event.

“We are actually privileged because out of all the 40 other places that the event has the probability of being held at, they chose us, QNHS and I must say that it is such an honor to our school”, Sharmaine Marie Regio, one of the handlers of the event said.

According to her, the event’s goal is to promote the different forms of dance so that the students would also be aware of its other genres.

“Right now, students are only fully familiarized with hip hop but in this event, they have shown the other forms of dance such as jazz, contemporary and ballet”, she added.

She stated that no major problems were spotted in the event and no peculiar incidents happened during the performances.

“I’m hoping and looking forward to the students appreciating and embrace these underrated dance genres and not only the ones popular in this generation”, Regio added.
